Built to remember and commemorate the lives of the 55 former pupils who lost their lives during World War Two.The building is an official War Memorial and is reported to be the only Chapel in the UK built at a state funded school post the 1944 Education Act. It was built entirely with funds raised by the school over an 18 year period.
